EARLY LITERACY

Children are the community’s greatest and most valuable resource.  A child's success today is an investment in our community's future. Early learning and literacy are the foundation of academic success.

parent engagement

Engaging and supporting families in their role as first teacher is vital. Parents and caregivers will receive information about best practices for increased literacy through a variety of ways. Information will be provided in the form of printed materials, virtual presentations and workshops, social media posts, and at events.

About

LEAD is a comprehensive literacy program designed to build awareness and understanding of the vital importance of early learning. We highlight how parents (and other adults) can help elementary school children read effectively through their early grades. It is grassroots in nature – serving as an awareness vehicle to connect parents, guardians and care givers of children ten and under to resources and tools they can use to ensure their children are ready for school and on the pathway to success.
